Diagnosis & Early Intervention

Diagnosis — Children (0–5)

Diagnosis through pediatrician referral to developmental pediatrician or child psychologist. MSP covers diagnostic costs.

Expect wait times of roughly 2-6 months for specialist assessment in Vancouver/BC. Longer in northern BC. for a specialist evaluation.

Screening is typically recommended starting at Screening at 18-24 months. Formal diagnosis typically 18 months to 5 years..
